Resetting a Path to Net-Zero at Delta Airlines

A group case study at Columbia University where we worked as Delta Air Lines’ internal sustainability team to develop a realistic path to net zero. The project focused on a “reduce first, offset last” approach, looking at solutions such as sustainable aviation fuel, fleet upgrades, and the role of carbon credits. We also considered Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and addressed challenges like implementation timelines and the risk of greenwashing.
